Assigned tasks for user who was removed from group

Hi all,
We have the following scenario:

  1. User1 belongs to group G1.
  2. UserTask1 has candidateGroups=G1 and User1 claims this task.
  3. User1 is removed from group G1 (he/she got promoted to another department for example)
-> he remains assigned to UserTask1.

What should happen to his/her assigned tasks? Can you tell me what are the common scenarios and what is the most used/recommended one?

The options I see are:

  1. If User1 is removed from group G1, all his/her assigned tasks belonging to group G1 should be automatically unclaimed.
  2. User1 unclaims the assigned task that belong to group G1.
  3. Some other user (e.g. a manager capable of seeing all tasks) unclaims these tasks or maybe reassigns a new user to these tasks.

Thanks,
Paul Palacean

It would be quite easy to programmatically unclaim all tasks that User1 one has for that group. So i would go with that option

Hi,

I would suggest in all practicality, when a user is promoted etc, it is not an instantaneous transition. There is normally a period of completion/hand over prior to a person moving rolesā€¦

There is the case of sudden exit via illness or other misfortune, in this case the supervisor role normally identifies and transitions tasks ownership as appropriateā€¦
