I am using camunda self-managed version deployed on Azure AKS. I want to upgrade it from camunda 8.3 to 8.6 in production. We have more than 100,000 active instances. The elasticsearch database is 700GB.
Is it possible to do the upgradation directly from 8.3 to 8.6 without upgrading like 8.3 to 8.4, 8.4 to 8.5 and 8.5 to 8.6?
It is not recommended to upgrade from 8.3 to 8.6 directly. This will lead to multiple problems. Please follow the upgrade guide in the docs to upgrade to every successive minor version all the way to 8.6
We are thinking about changing this in the future to help customers to upgrade directly to latest version if they’re on very old versions but there is nothing in the pipeline yet for that.
