we are planning to use camunda zeebe 8 for workflow orchestration. I just want to confirm my understandings in terms of storage and exporter.
Zeebe broker stores all data in file storage and exports it to exporter. In this case is there any specific creteria or time that old data in the file storage will be removed
Operate and tasklist also have their own indices and what does it contains.
The data in the file storage is runtime data only. It will be removed as soon as the engine does not require it any more (like C7 act_ru_* tables).
When using the default setup, Zeebe will export its events to an elasticsearch index. From there, Operate, Tasklist and Optimize will pick up the events and reindex/filter them on their own to maximise reading performance of the data. I cannot say which data is contained in detail, but you will surely be able to find the indexes when trying out the platform in a local setup.
Thanks @jonathan.lukas , Just a confirmation So the completed instances will not be present in the file storage (similar to c7) . so we should definitely have exporters for the completed instances and variables?
