Cluster for Tasklist User

I am creating users in Camunda 8 with the role “Task User”. All they should be able to do is to complete work items in their task list. Camunda asks me to “create a cluster to use tasklist”. Is this really necessary? I am just curious because in my understanding the cluster is where the organisation’s Camunda engine is running. Why does every user in the same organisation need his own cluster?

Hi @ahense - can you share a screenshot of that message? I just tested in my SaaS organization and didn’t get any prompts like that, so I’m not able to replicate it myself. Do you already have a cluster running?

Hi @nathan.loding - I have tried in vain to replicate this. I have experienced the problem with the first two test users I have created. The others later could access the right cluster immediately. I am not sure what caused the problem - perhaps problems with open sessions in browsers. I think we can ignore this for now.

I’m glad it was a transient error. My guess is that perhaps the cluster wasn’t fully online when the first users were created, so it looked like you were adding users without any cluster created. A strange edge case … but if you do experience it again, let me know and I can engage the engineers!
