Custom entities

Hi, I wanted to add a custom entity into the schema and was looking for the best approach. I’ve found the section on Custom Queries (https://docs.camunda.org/manual/7.6/examples/tutorials/custom-queries/#custom-mybatis-queries) enlightening. However, I also noticed the tutorial with JEE (https://docs.camunda.org/get-started/javaee6/service-task/) and was wondering which approach would be best? Or if there is another approach that you may recommend. My goal is to ensure that our custom entity does not interfere with upgrade/maintainability paths, but takes advantage of the current engine/entity managers in place.

Thanks,
Dominic

Hi Dominic,

the way I see it your choice should depend on technologies that you are using right now. If you have Java EE available, you can just go with EntityManager to handle persistence of your entities. If not, then you have to stick to pure MyBatis way. Both options affect upgrade\migration process in same way.

Does that help you?
