JSON data for process insances is retrieved, but not all variables are included in the response data. Each process instance has a set of variables, but it looks like variables of array and JSON type are excluded from API responses.
Note that the poster of this thread is using C8 SaaS. It is not clear if this setting can be viewed or configured in SaaS to check if it is enabled or not:
Hi @vRafalMonka and @Justin_Phillips, in SaaS the import of complex variables is currently disabled so they will not be available in reports (and exports thereof). We’ve taken notice however of some customers interest in this feature, product management will consider this when evaluating adding this functionality to SaaS too.
Hi @Helene , thank you for your response. Without all variables enabled we risk not having all neccessary data that we need for reporting. Do you have any timetable for this functionality in SaaS?
The topic is high-priority in our backlog but not yet scheduled on the roadmap. Our focus is currently on fully integrating Optimize into the Camunda 8 world (Ease installation, …). I can imagine working on “complex variables” as soon as this is done.
Hello @Tobias_Conz, thank you for information. I didn’t want to bother you earlier, but this matter is becoming more pressing for us. It’s been two months since I sent this request.
Do you know an ETA?
I’m very sorry to hear this, and I have to tell you that we won’t be able to work on complex variables this year. There is no planned time to implement topics not on the roadmap.
Are you a partner of Camunda / Customer? If you are a customer, it would be good to open a feature request in our support system.
