Version compatibility: Camunda Platform 8 and Zeebe Worker

Hi all,

we are currently on Camunda Platform 8.2.x SaaS and are using Zeebe Worker 8.2.x.

Is there a recommended update order? Should we first update our cluster to 8.3.x or the Zeebe Worker to 8.3.x? Or will any order work safely?

I looked at Update 8.2 to 8.3 | Camunda 8 Docs and also Supported environments | Camunda 8 Docs but it doesn’t seem to answer my general question.

I stumbled across my own question in the forum :slight_smile: and still don’t have a definite answer. It seems that in practice the order doesn’t make a difference but can you confirm?

The documentation still doesn’t seem to have an answer.

thank you for tagging me here. In general, we expect clients to be compatible with newer versions.

However, clients should use the same minor release version as the API / the server.

You got a point in saying that this is not properly documented. I will forward this to the documentation team <3
