Camunda8 saas or self managed

Hello Team,
i have doubt which one i used saas or self managed ?
with why we are using and limitation please.

Hi @Supriya,
Here are some information about Camunda 8 Saas and Self Managed,
Camunda 8 SaaS (Camunda Cloud):

  1. Deployment: Camunda 8 SaaS is a cloud-hosted solution provided as a service. It’s managed and hosted by Camunda. You don’t need to worry about infrastructure, server setup, or maintenance.
  2. Ease of Use: It’s designed for ease of use and quick setup. You can get started with Camunda Cloud without extensive technical expertise.
  3. Scalability: SaaS offerings are usually designed for scalability. You can easily scale resources up or down based on your needs.
  4. Managed Services: Camunda handles maintenance, updates, and security patches, so you can focus on building and running your workflows.
  5. Managed Database: Camunda SaaS typically includes a managed database for storing workflow data.
  6. Integration: SaaS solutions often come with integrations to other cloud services, which can simplify building and extending workflows.
  7. Subscription-Based Pricing: You typically pay for Camunda 8 SaaS on a subscription basis, which can make it easier to budget for your workflow automation needs.

Camunda 8 Self-Managed (Camunda BPM Platform or Camunda Run):

  1. Deployment: Camunda 8 Self-Managed is deployed on your own infrastructure, whether on-premises or in your chosen cloud environment (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). You have full control over the infrastructure setup.
  2. Customization: Self-Managed offers more customization options. You can tailor the environment to meet specific requirements, including integrations, security, and scaling strategies.
  3. Control: With self-managed solutions, you have more control over the entire stack, including the database and application server.
  4. Security: You’re responsible for securing and maintaining the environment. This means applying security patches, configuring firewalls, and managing access controls.
  5. Database Choice: You can choose the type of database you want to use, whether it’s a relational database, NoSQL database, or others. This gives you more flexibility.
  6. Integration with Existing Infrastructure: If your organization has specific infrastructure requirements or standards, self-managed Camunda can be integrated more seamlessly into your existing setup.
  7. Licensing: Licensing for self-managed solutions may involve one-time fees or subscriptions, depending on the vendor’s pricing model.

Hope this helps you.
