is there a way to deploy the camunda webapps independently and on a different server than the one that contains the engine?
You need to have the engine locally for the API calls to be made - but you can have that engine set so that it does not do any other work other than react the calls being made by the Cockpit, Tasklist and Admin.
I want to make tasklist reachable through the internet without having to make the whole server running the engine reachable through the internet as well. I want the engine to be accessible only on the intranet not the internet. I’m not sure that is doable but I hope there is a work around.
