Escalation button from form - change variable at same time

Hello,

in the video of the 7.12 release demo special button was shown to trigger a boundary escalation event of the same task.

Confirm

RestAPI : https://docs.camunda.org/manual/latest/reference/rest/task/post-bpmn-escalation/

allows also to change process variables within same call.

My question:
Is there an easy method to do same from a user task form that by pressing escalation button a process variable could be updated at the same time?
