Camunda 8.6 Modeler shows an error when attaching a receive task to an event-based gateway (see image attached). This construction is not deployable, requiring users to use a message intermediate catch event instead.
What makes this situation particularly confusing is that both symbols are shown as supported in the documentation, and the BPMN reference allows for it as a valid construction under BPMN standards:
There’s no explicit indication that this specific construction should be avoided, aside from a single sentence in the event-based gateway documentation describing what can be attached:
Given this, can we expect the functionality to be completed in a future version of Camunda? If not, it would be helpful to know so we can plan accordingly and inform our clients.
