How to clean up all workflows

Hi guys,

As the title says after I’ve deployed many demos and PoC’s I want to clean all and start again from 0. how can I achieve this?.

thank you

It depends on how you run it. If it’s Docker, delete the mounted volumes.

what if not Docker ? Delete data directorys ?
How to clean up all workflows in camunda operate ? There are a few instances that can’t be canceled.

yeah, thanks I delete all directories and ran again, I’m not using docker…

the problem was Operate, I deleted everything and ran again

everything is clean

Thank you

I revive this topic as the solution proposed is not suitable in a functional test suite environment.

I need to isolate tests and in the setup phase, I need to empty the Zeebe data.

But without stopping the service.

So, as there is no gRPC API command to remove all data from the database, how-to do it in a clean way, without restarting the service.

I guess I need to ask for a new API command, isn’t it ?

I isolate the Camunda Cloud integration tests in the Zeebe Node client by transforming the BPMN and injecting unique IDs in the tests.

I used special timer block, 1 hour for example
Cancel test
All instances will be completed automatically

A new API command is unlikely to be implemented for this. If you need a guaranteed clean install of Zeebe for testing, there is a way to do this: install it from nothing programmatically.

For functional tests in CI I use two approaches:

  • Starting a docker side container in the test env in Circle CI or GitHub Actions;
  • Using unique namespaces in Camunda Cloud (since I am testing the behaviour of the Node client in their exact infrastructure, and there is no REST API to stand up and tear-down a cluster)

What is the constraint that you have, that means that neither of these two solutions is useable for you?

Or could one of these two work?
