Sorry just giving my feedback.
I was evluating the use of your workflow.
Did some example stuff, got midway and realised that your version 8 has allot of changes. I read the release notes,
and essentially what it says, is that ALL your customers have to update ALL ther integration code, as well as all their models to cater for the new concepts in the new system.
Geez im glad I saw this. Imagine how upset I would have been if I was one of your customers xD hahahhaha
Thanks for your feedback.
Indeed, we have completely redesigned and rebuilt the BPMN engine for Camunda 8. A lot of features that Camunda 7 needed are not compatible with Camunda 8. These sacrifices were unavoidable in order to make a process engine that is compatible with future architectures built on distributed systems. These future systems need a process engine that is optimized to orchestrate them. Camunda 7 was quite limited in these cases.
For our customers and community, they’ve known now for the last 3 years about this move and they still have about another 2 years before they need to move away from Camunda 7. But even after that, we’ll still be offering support for those who aren’t able to move in time, both in terms of security and maintenance updates to Camunda 7 and also tools to make migration easier.
