i am using the below bpmn notation to terminate the instance but it doesnt terminate and goes out of the boundary , not sure why such behaviour , i am trying to terminate the instance and not go step further after this , am i wrong ??

It terminates the current scope!
So, if if there happens to be a sub process surrounding that lovely little event then it’s not going to end the process instance 
wow but how can i do end and not letting the instance go out niall ?

Lots of ways! It depends on your model. This is an example - use an error event
