Optimize without an Engine Rest-API

Hello,

I want to use Optimize in Camunda 7 environment and use the “Event Based Processes” feature of Optimize. I need those processes only and no “real” processes executed by a process engine.

If I understand correctly, Optimize uses the connected Engine Rest-APIs to find out whether the user who tries to log in into the Optimize GUI is allowed to use Optimize – as described here.

But if I need no engine processes I’d need no Rest-API. Should I still have one – just for the user authorization? Or is it somehow possible to use Optimize without a connected Rest-API at all?

Thank you.

Hi @fml2 ,
You’ve understood correctly, Optimize for C7 uses the platforms user authorisation management so you would also need to set up a camunda platform instance to connect to Optimize to handle your user authorisations.
