Process Automation within an SAP environment

I’m currently working on implementing Process Automation within an SAP environment, specifically to streamline approval workflows and routine data validation steps. The setup works fine for most scenarios, but I’ve been running into intermittent errors where automated jobs either fail to trigger or execute partially when integrated with custom business rules.

While reviewing through C_IEE2E_2404 Exam questions from Pass4future, I noticed several references to how automation frameworks handle exception management and retry logic, but the documentation doesn’t go deep into troubleshooting cross-module automation issues.

Has anyone encountered similar challenges with SAP Process Automation or Workflow Management, especially when integrating with multiple SAP modules or extensions on BTP? I’d appreciate any insights into how you approached error handling, process recovery, or monitoring in such setups.

Hi @Britanney_Wiley - this is a forum for the Camunda platform, not SAP. Are you trying to automate SAP tasks with Camunda?

Hi @nathan.loding thanks for getting back to me. Yes, I’m exploring how Camunda can help orchestrate or automate workflows that involve SAP systems, for example, integrating SAP S/4HANA or SAP Build Process Automation tasks within broader business processes.

I understand this forum focuses on Camunda itself, so I’m mainly looking for best practices or examples of connecting Camunda with SAP (through APIs, connectors, or middleware). If there’s a more specific category or discussion thread for SAP-related integrations, I’d appreciate being pointed in the right direction.
