Setting execution platform version on BPMN and DMN files

We will be migrating from Camunda version 7.18 to version 7.21, and for this, I am updating the version of the BPMN and DMN diagrams.

However, when I open older models that are in version 7, reset them to version 7.21, and save, upon reopening the file, the version reverts back to 7. How can I fix this?

Additionally, I am performing this update on the files to maintain best practices, but I admit that I have not found any specific content indicating that this should be done. Do you consider this a recommended or unnecessary step?

Below are the prints of how it appears in the modeler and the .xml

Up, still need help! :smiling_face_with_tear:

Hello my friend!

This really seems strange…

Have you ever tried downloading an older version of Camunda Modeler, and trying to save this file to check if there is a bug in your modeler?

In the XML there is a part that shows the version of the camunda platform, you can see if the XML contains the correct version as shown in my screenshot below:

Before trying this, you can try changing the version directly through the XML in this part where I marked it in red, and try to save the file, to check if it will be in the correct version when you open it again.

If it doesn’t work, try downloading another version of Camunda Modeler as mentioned above.

I hope this helps!
