We are using Camunda 7 EE and planning to upgrade to Camunda 8 community edition. Is Camunda 8 community edition available for free ? What are the features supported ?

we’re in a similiar situation see How do you handle the additional costs of the new 8.6 Licence?
Until Camunda 8.5 you can use the basic Zeebee engine as Standalone in case you dont need Tools like operate, tasklist etc.
But with version 8.6. Also die Zeebe engine falls under the Enterprise licence and it seems like there is no free option of Camunda for commercial use.

I can clarify a few points:
- Starting with version 8.6, a license is required to run Camunda in production. Previous versions allowed Zeebe to run standalone without a license, but a license was always required for Operate, Tasklist, Optimize, and Web Modeler.
- We do offer free, non-commercial licenses to non-profits, academic institutions, for personal/private use, and for development and testing. If you believe your use case qualifies for a free license, you can reach out to us here: Camunda 8 Self-Managed for Non-Commercial License
- The team is working on building a pricing calculator to launch on the website to help provide more accurate price estimates without needing to contact sales, but the calculator is currently in development.
