Who is eligible for Developer (C8-CP-DV) certification

Hello,
could anyone tell me who is allowed to take the developer (C8-CP-DV) certification?
Is it true that it is only allowed for Camunda 8 Enterprise customers?
What about Camunda 7 customers?
And what about everyone who is not a customer?
Is there another certification that is open for non customer or at least non Camunda 8 customers?

Hi @Janning, welcome to the forum. Great questions.

Like you mentioned, currently, only Camunda Enterprise customers and partners are eligible for the Camunda 8 Developer Certification. This is due to legal restrictions around offering the Certification to non-customers. Our Education team is reviewing options to expand the certification in the future.

For Camunda 7 customers, there is no Camunda 7 certification since Camunda 7 is now EOL. I am not sure if Camunda 7 Enterprise customers are eligible to take the Camunda 8 certification – I am double checking with the team – but it requires extensive Camunda 8 knowledge and hands-on experience with Camunda 8 to successfully pass the exam. If you have experience in Camunda 7 only, I think you will have a difficult time passing the Camunda 8 certification.

Hi again @Janning! I confirmed that Camunda 7 enterprise customers are indeed eligible to take the Camunda 8 Developer Certification, but, like I mentioned above, it would be challenging to pass the exam without experience in Camunda 8.
